Dairi Regency, across the cool uplands surrounding Sidikalang in North Sumatra, is known for producing robusta coffee with earthy depth, dark chocolate bitterness, woody spice, and dense body shaped by volcanic terrain and traditional Indonesian processing culture. Historically recognized as one of Sumatra’s important coffee trading regions, Sidikalang developed a reputation for bold coffees favored for espresso blends, kopi susu, and traditional Indonesian brewing styles because of their strong texture, low acidity, and lingering bittersweet finish.
